Lawrence A. Nord, M.D.Lawrence A. Nord, M.D. has been in the private practice of orthopedic surgery in Bloomington/Normal, IL since 1980. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Nord has performed over 2,000 procedures involving primary arthroplasty (total joint replacement), revision arthroplasty, and minimally invasive arthroplasty of the hip and knee. He was also the first physician in the Bloomington/Normal, IL area to perform ceramic-on-ceramic hip arthroplasty, a new technology primarily used in patients under the age of 65. Ceramic-on-ceramic hips are expected to last a lifetime. Dr. Nord is also bilingual, providing Central Illinois with a spanish speaking facility.
Dr. Nord is actively involved in the medical community. He believes that physicians have a responsibility to participate in activities contributing to the improvement of the community and the betterment of public health. He also believes, that as physicians, they have an ethical responsibility to contribute to political changes that will benefit their patients.
